NEP is an alternative education programme held at our North Liverpool Award Centre on City Road, Walton. NEP is for young people who have been excluded, are at risk of exclusion or have been missing for a prolonged period of time mainstream education. Our aim is to support the young people to create a better future for themselves.
We focus on developing interpersonal skills and great emphasis is placed upon their social and emotional development. Young people on this programme may have a variety of barriers that prevent them from learning.
Our aim is to identify these barriers and their causes and put specific support in place to enable the young people to flourish. Young people are referred directly into our provision from Liverpool City Council’s Alternative Provision Team or directly from schools. Young people can enrol on a part-time basis of either 2 or 3 days.
“The staff have worked to support my family too. Now I’m actually learning and my home life is so much better too.”
“They take a different approach to the schools. They took time to understand my child and what works with them and now he’s able to apply for college. 2 years ago I never thought he would get to the stage he is at now, thank you!”
“Learning isn’t something that I dread anymore, the staff have given me so much more confidence in my work and they also listen to my worries which has really improved my mental health”
