Walton Youth and Community Project is committed to ensuring that the work we are doing is meaningful and needed by those within our local community.
We measure the impact of our work in a number of ways- capturing feedback from service users and other professionals, using measurement tools such as Outcome Star.
The team at WYCP were fantastic to work with when we delivered a series of in person and hybrid art classes with two of our artist tutors. Everything was planned and implemented smoothly and we received excellent feedback from participants. We very much look forward to working with them again in the future!
To summarise, there is a real heartfelt and genuine family vibe at Walton YP, one that can’t be faked. The children were cooking together and with staff, food was being shared along with scones, cakes and other treats. Children and staff warmed to the workshop leaders and treated us as one would a friend visiting a family home. I’ve worked with the Youth Service for 30 years, and very few centres I’ve attended around the country can be paralleled with WYP.’
I led workshops with artist Steve Threlfall, and a group of young people outside in the local park. It was very well organised by the staff were lovely with the young people, helping them to express themselves and enabling them to have lots of fun while building confidence. It was great to also see parents joining in, as the staff had encouraged them to get involved too. WYCP is a great organisation and I hope to work with them again in the future.
It’s really clear the young people have a great relationship with the WYCP team built on mutual respect and enjoying being each other’s company. The quality of the WYCP equipment, set-up and their amazing bus really adds to the high quality look and feel of the work the staff are doing. The young people were funny, kind, caring, imaginative, respectful and full of enthusiasm to try new things. We really can’t wait to come back next summer!
