The Base

The Base is the latest addition to the Walton Youth and Community Project offering.

In April 2021, we started a Crowdfunding campaign to raise money for our phase 1 renovations; wrapping the exterior of the bus, attaching a new awning and completing some much needed electrical works.

In January 2022, we were delighted to hit our crowdfunding total, thanks to support from funders such as the Mayoral Inclusive Growth fund, Idverde, local councillors and the wider community. 

This saw the start of our phase 1 renovations, which we revealed at our launch event on 6th April 2022. Joined by community members, professionals and funders, we celebrated the past year of WYCP and looked at the journey of The Base so far.

The Base phase 2 renovations were completed in house by the WYCP team in September 2022- adding screens, vinyl wrapping the cupboards and surfaces, and adding a fridge for refreshments on the go.
